its the GA-880GM-USB3 with SB710 chipset, i couldnt seem to find any of those specification you listed
yeh i uninstalled all programs and reinstalled icluding OS, I havent played around with the bois yet to see if i can get my cpu to run at 4000mhz. But ill keep you posted.

So is it fixed? And how many sticks of ram are in this comp?

Mhm, overclocking this far (1.475V) on an x6 on a 4+1 power phase & tower cooler... not that it's going to blow up on you as this is a quality design and I'm pretty sure Gigabyte boards use OCP protection, but you really should add cooling on there

Actually heck, that's probably it, OCP protecting kicking in and downclocking your processor during load to ease the TDP & heat on the VRMs

The CPU may be reverting to a lower clock if a VRM has gone bad.
Also,don't go for 4Ghz with that board,it doesn't have a heatsink on the VRM's.

What you have explained happens to me when i Change the Ram Timings around or if i put the NB up to 2.6ghz and don't have at least 1.25V.

thanks for that info guys, well then i should upgrade my motherboard as i think the vrm's are fried as i cant seem to get speeds as i used to and optimised defaults wont even let me open the smallest of programs.

got any recomendations for a new motherboard?
