Need overclocking setting for i5 750 on P7P55D!!!

Hi Guys! :hello:

Need to know best bios setting for overclocking my i5 750 on Asus P7P55D!
I hv got CM Scout casing...2x2gb Corsair dominator ram (1600mhz)c8. Corsair tx650 watt psu and CM hyper212+ cooling solution.
i want to make it stable at 3.8 to 4.0ghz. plz tell me stable settings for these configrations.
till now the only stable setting i could get with my little knowledge is:

Using [X.M.P] Setting.
ratio: 18
blck: 200
vcore: 1.35
IMC: 1.3
Dram: 1.65

i know these are high but stability tests (prime95 and linX) only pass at these settings otherwise they give errors.p.s temp goes around 75c i m worried frown.gif
what should i do? Any help would be highly appreciated.

waiting for expert replies
Regards.

UPDATE 1:
found one more stable setting after doing alot of testing with voltages.

Using [X.M.P] Setting: 3.611Mhz
ratio: 18
blck: 200
vcore: 1.275
IMC: 1.275
Dram: 1.65
PLL: auto
PCH: auto

UPDATE 2:
found another stable setting after doing helluva of testing with voltages.

Using [X.M.P] Setting: 3.812Ghz
ratio: 19
blck: 200
vcore: 1.35
IMC: 1.3
Dram: 1.65
PLL: 1.9
PCH: auto
LLC: Enabled

No plz tell me how to get to 4.0ghz mark!
my voltage red zone starts above Vcore: 1.381v IMC: 1.30v and Dram: 1.681v

i got the same mobo aswell but with an i5 760 what you could try is 200x20 and about ur temps u should be fine but if i were you keep an eye on the temps also i cant rly tell you whats the best setting for it the only way to rly find that out is to just try it but dont up the voltage 2 much smile.gif

reminder: go in small steps if it goes in overclocking and stress it with linx prime95 or anything like it i recommended linx though

I have an MSi mobo and the OC genie button on the mobo got me to 3.8, i've since tweeked it to 4ghz.

these are the settings i'm using at the mo.

Ratio: 20
Bclk: 200
Vcore 1.37
IMC: 1.35 (ocing the 1600mhz ram to 2000)
Dram 1.65

I also had to raise the PCH? to 1.85-1.9

Bus not ever CPU is equal, i know the max blck i could get was 226 so i could have it WAY higher, but i might have just been lucky with sample.

Hey man, well i'm using watercooling, so its not gonna be comparable, I get around 60c on full load (IBT Max MEM 20 times) I can't get it stable at anything lower than 1.37, and during full load it often jumps to 1.4

I think (from reading round) its a common voltage to have, i was running it at a higher bclk and lower voltages but one day it just gave up, so i lowered it all down to 4ghz,

but there is a general rule to overclocking, upping the bclk slowly until it needs more voltage,

But 4ghz is easily achieved on this cpu and you a have a slightly higher spec mobo than me, so it should be straight forward.

OK! got your point..
i hv got hyper212+!
i tried achieving 4ghz stable at vcore 1.35 imc 1.3 and dram 1.65! wasnt successful.
Then i left it coz when i increase imc more than 1.3 it goes into red zone! i dunno whether its their in yours board too... but what i thought there it is dangerous to go more..
keep in mind i hv corsair 2 x 2 Dominator rams which operate at
8-8-8-24 in x.m.p. mode requiring 1.65v.
should i keep trying to stable 4ghz by increasing vcore and imc?

Ok guys! i hv found one more working setting for it!

Using [X.M.P] Setting: 3.611Mhz
ratio: 18
blck: 200
vcore: 1.275
IMC: 1.275
Dram: 1.65
pll: auto
pch: auto

still it is high! but what i hv figured out it! that it is my RAM!
when ever i go lower then 1.275 with imc.. it gives me BSOD with 0x00000124 error!
and i m not able to go lower than 1.275 with vcore too. its gives errors in linX and prime95!

so what do you guys think. is it my ram requiring more voltages to operate.

Wow thats alot of volts for your IMC, my IMC voltage is at 1.22v,

Try this, set your vcore to 1.35v, and try lowering your IMC to 1.24v.
Enable LLC level 2.

PLL and PCH can be left on auto.

Drop your ram ratio to 8 so its running at 1600mhz. Leave it on 1.65v
Manually set your ram timings as per your ram specifications.

Test for stability.

It may have something to do with XMP settings aswell. Try disabling it.

Whenever i try going lower than 1.275 with IMC! nomatter what vcore it is (tried from 1.2 to 1.35) i get a BSOD with 0x00000124 error!

but with IMC set to 1.275 i m getting stability issues with vcore. hv to set it to 1.275 to 3 testing with these values now heavily!

There is no such thing as setting llc to level 2 or ram ratio to 8 in my bios (See for MY BIOS here)

btw i hv set llc to enabled for 3.6ghz and ram is set at 1600mhz with 1.65v!

still in testing phase! testing it heavily though to make it sure whether it is working for long time or not!

whts ur imc at 3.8?
