I don't see how this would be worth it for you when you have perfectly decent, cheap units to be bought in your country
Its still handy to know, there is heaps of stuff on newegg that isn't available in Australia, or atleast at a decent price. The exchange rate is getting redunculous, so it would be nice to take advantage of that.

Or if you want AMD;
MotherBoard
CPU

Australian website too
I always buy from them, they have the most amazing customer service and they always ship your stuff out fast, they also take a lot of care with the packaging.
I ALWAYS buy from PCCG. <3. Can buy a whole system with them, pay credit card surcharge, postage + insurance and it will still be cheaper than if i went and picked it up from gamedude.com or umart.com.au.

The i3 board doesn't have sata3 Which leads me to want the 100$ AMD board, because of the sata3. I figure, why get old technology when you can get new technology thats faster for the same price.

Thanks mate.

It still depends on what your mother actually does with her computer. If all she does is web browsing, simple office work and the like, there are tons of people doing exactly that perfectly fine on Pentium Dual Core PCs from 5 years ago, so that's why I don't see a need to spend extra on quad cores, much less hex cores. In the end it's up to you though
Your right, people are doing fine on dual cores from 5 years ago. Thats why in 5 years time I want her to be like "I'm still using that system you built from 5 years ago" I dont see a dual core doing that for her. Its not much more (if any) from i3 to PII quad, plus the motherboards are cheaper.

Many thanks for your input guys. +Rep
