Overkill for 1 GTX580 for me? - Page 8

another thing is that overclocking is the pursuit of getting the best performance for the lowest price or getting the best performance no matter the price, those 2 schools of thought clash a lot here, but either way you can always benefit from overclocking, just wanted to say this, because overclocking does not equal overkill but you can go overkill and still overclock

A single 570 is NOT enough for me. If you just want to play the games, then it's fine. But I'm quite bothered if a game doesn't run smooth (60fps) so it's really not enough imho. Even old games like Mass Effect get 40-50 fps in non-intensive parts

That's the best decision imho. That, or a pair of 470s (if you have decent airflow).
I'm going sli 570s on a 2560x1440 monitor and I don't know if it's enough for my standards

I saw a thread where someoen said its way overkill. But is there any confirm for that?
Otherwise, I'll just grap a GTX570 instead.
See you got the 580...Great choice

gtx 580 is never overkill for r1920 x 1200 unless you're not playing high graphic demand games.

what is that? a multi monitor setup?
A 580 can run any game out there at that resolution. My previous GTX 570 had trouble playing Metro 2033 and the frames it pumped out made me question its cost. I saved $80 and unlocked an HD 6950 and now it is better than my GTX 570. Now I can haz metro with no LAG!!!!

I can't tell if your being sarcastic...lol. I'll bite....it's two or more monitors set up side by side running one large display.

You can also have different programs up on different screens while working. Like IE9 on one, a word program on the other etc....working simultaneously.

i was asking if he had a multi monitor setup, 2560x1440 certainly appears to be a multi monitor resolution, and i can assume that a single 570 wouldn't run a multi monitor setup at 60fps, which would explain a lot, but i don't think i would like a multi monitor setup anyway, i really want to know what it is like gaming on one
