Q6600 overclock to 3.0 - 3.2 Ghz - Page 4

Got Blue screen 3x now during ibt.

400x8, 1.4V (BIOS), NB: +0.025.

What should I try next? More CPU volts?

RMK: CPU-Z shows 1.36V during ibt, not sure which volts I should consider as CPU volts.

CPU-Z shows the correct V-core. Please make sure you set Performance Enhance to 'Standard' and set the Static tRead to 10.

Glad to see you here Turrican9 smile.gif

Performance is on Standard and tRead is... what's tRead?

It seems to be liking the extra volts I gave now running ibt (2 rounds to go).

Every time I increased cpu volts it lasted longer during ibt... It seems logical but with computers we never now... redface.gif Temperatures as low as 47 Celsius and Vdroop 1.376V.

It just finished all 5 runs with ibt and it didn't freeze or crash but ibt said it wasn't a stable run. I'll try a bit more volts as it seems to be building up and my temp is still pretty low.

Static tRead is the same as Performance Level for mem. Never leave it at Auto. 10 should be good for 400FSB. It can lead to problems if left at Auto. As it can default too tight.

You have a 65nm CPU Quad, and they love Volts. Up the V-core until your stable. You have the cooling wink.gif

Try 425FSB x8 with 1.5v V-core. See how that goes

Right, I'll have a look next restart when in my BIOS. I don't remember seeing that on this one but I am sure it is there, hidden. lachen.gif

Yeah, it looks like these 65nm are little suckers huh? 1.41V now it should pass this test. 49 Celsius so far applaud.gif

By the way, I don't use IBT anymore. As I've found it is no good for stability testing. It only heats up your CPU to insane levels and are not good at detecting errors, really.

I use Prime95 Small FFT's for testing CPU stability. 6 Hours is plenty. I use Blend for system/mem stability and I use Large FFT's for FSB/Chipset stability. You should not worry about Large FFT's since your running lower than 450MHz FSB speeds. Also, I use memtest for Windows for mem.
