[Self-Resolved]Need the best non-smartphone cellphone

Dad is raging about his dumbphone and wants to upgrade to something more business worthy while at the same time not being a smartphone so as to avoid the 30 dollar a month fee.

He doesn't care if it has a physical keyboard or not.

Does not care if it's 2g or 3g.

Does not care if it's got a nice camera.

Does not care how blazing fast it is.

He's really simple about his phone, but he does have 1 request.

He needs to EASILY be able to access gmail.

I'm also sure he won't mind surfing the web and ease is everything to him. He's somewhat tech illiterate, but slowly learning. The easier the phone is to use the better.

I would personally prefer the phone to be as good as possible so upgrading is never on his mind.

Keeping the price below 100 would be preferred.

Again, it should be a phone that can utilize the 10 dollars a month internet fee thing on Verizon. Not the 30 dollar smartphone plan.

If your suggestion has a physical keyboard, that's cool too, if not it doesn't matter. Give me the best phone for his needs.

sounds to me like you are asking for just a cheap smartphone...

I am not on verizon, but is there no way to just get the smartphone and only use the cheap data plan still?
IMHO then get a Sprint phone which has the cheapest data everything plan including the extra $10.00 a month....get a LG Optimus S which is free at the moment with a 2 year contract and is a 3G phone very basic....I have one & it's great....Just my

Sure. I'm asking for a "Cheap Smartphone."

Smartphones are charged 30 dollars a month for internet on Verizon. You can't just opt for the 10 dollar a month plan.

Which is why it has to be a "non-smartphone", of which I am looking for the best cellphone that's similar in nature to a smartphone, but not considered one.

Gmail you say? Most nokias have an email app built in and some googling confirms it works with gmail. I recommend the N95, it'll be cheap but its still an awesome phone.

EDIT here is a guide on how to set it up, if you do get a nokia.

Pretty sure the LG Vortex is a smartphone and not what I was looking for.

Either way, I went for the LG enV Touch.

I think this is the last time I'll ask OCN for dumbphone help. :S

Sure, recommending smartphones that are way over budget is a bit stupid, whats wrong with the N95 though? Some of us did make sound recommendations...
