3GB GTX 580 or 1.5GB sufficient on U3011 2560x1600 maxxing AA whenever possible? - Page 10

Thanks for the input on the peripheral vision - I do acknowledge that, but I feel the immersive experience is not a factor I can fathom nor appreciate, despite playing crysis 2, metro 2033 and black ops for an hour when I tested it out the other day.

As I mentioned before, I loved the U2711 with 1440 vertical pixels, but my 1920x1200 16:10 at work makes me feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel, giving me a feeling that 16:10 high res is astounding and the 2560x1440 on the U2711 however great, still felt a little 'short' somehow, despite physically having more vertical pixels than the 1920x1200 i use every day now.

Perhaps I'm just trying to convince myself, but maybe someone can share if they had gone through the same dilemma - I don't think the issue now is whether I want a 3x monitor setup, but more of choosing a 2560x1440 or a 2560x1600 and whether the price difference of 300-400$ is worth the extra investment - as the U2711 sells for about $850 USD here in Singapore, but the U3011 goes for ~$1450 USD
to me it wasnt just the extra 160 pixels it was the 3" more of real estate, besides monitors are generally not something you upgrade as often as say a gpu or cpu, buy it once and keep it for a while. dont really hear ppl complaining their monitor is too big, but u do see people say i wish i got the next size up.

Im glad i got the u3011 over the 27"

I would like to benchmark my GPU and memory usage on 2560x1600. What program can I run to show an overlay of it?

In monitoring for each field you would like shown check the box below for the stats to overlay.

I'm using EVGA Precision 2.0.3. Is that what you're using?

Memory usage is under memory clock.

if you're using msi afterburner click settings, click the monitoring tab and under active hardware monitoring graphics there should be a window you can scroll down through. Scroll all the way down and it should say "Memory Usage." Click it and check "show in on screen display."

Then to toggle on screen display go to the on screen display tab and set your keys
