Sleeving Fans

Ok so from my other thread i already ordered 1/8 Clean cut 25FT from FurryLetters on ebay. I also ordered 3/16 3to1 heat shrink but i have to wait until monday because he ran out.
Now my question is does anyone put Electrical tape on their wires before sleeving so you dont see the wires? I already did that on one of my painted fans and i think that its ok but i need other peoples opinions.
I did black electrical tape with black sleeving, black heat shrink and changed the connector from white to black. The fan blade itself is a dark green.

Typically with black sleeve, you won't have to tape the wires off. Since the blakc won't be effected by the underlying cable color. Any other color I would tape off a similar color to the sleeve.

This also depends on the quality of sleeve you get. Some are effected more than others. MDPCX for example, isn't as effected by cable color as most Techflex, modright, etc...

So i dont really have to put the electrical tape?

Nope, not if you've got dense-weeved sleeve and the color is black (or a darker blue).

if you got paracord you'll be fine. although I'm sure doing the electrical tape on the wires wasn't that time consuming relative to the rest of the sleeving
