Talk me into water cooling :|

Long story short, I have the In Win Dragon Rider with i7 2600k and the AsRock P67 Extreme 4. For those of you that are not familiar with the case, it has a large 22cm fan on the side that unfortunently prevents the use of large tower coolers. I'm begging to realize that this case was built with water cooling in mind...

I am looking at the following:

1) Antec 620
2) Corsair H50
3) Corsair H70

My concerns about watercooling are as follows:

1) Do they (the above) coolers require mantainence?
2) How likely is the possibility of leaking onto (therefore ruining) your system?

I plan on overclocking my 2600k to 4.0-4.5 Ghz. I also plan on maxing out the fans on the case to have as many as it supports (along with the 22cm fan included).

I am new to water cooling, would love to try it, but at this point I am a bit weary.

no maintanence, except normal dusting off fans etc.

if they leak, corsair replace the whole system, only one has leaked to record, and the general consensus is it was attempted modification gone wrong, even if they do, the replace it all.

i love mine.

Technically, the H50/70 don't count as a full water cooling solution.

Buy the H70, it performs just a couple of degrees lower than the best aircoolers. And it does not require any sort of maintenance (maybe just cleaning off dust a little). And it won't leak.

Well if it is on Corsair's dime, that genuinely makes me excited. So which of the above would be best? Does Antec warrant the entire system as well? If not that strongly makes me want the Corsair H70...

For 4.0-4.5GHz, you really do not need it.

Over 4.5GHz, you should consider it, but H70 is the better of the 3 and 620 and H50 are almost the same.

Leaking can happen, but all 3 of those are pretty solid. I see people at 60C-65C at full load around 5GHz on H70 and 5-10 higher on the other 2.

I believe what he meant is that the H70 doesn't cool as well as the Silver Arrow by a few degrees....so whay is a few degrees?

As far as these are concerned, they are close looped and totally sealed so you shouldn't lose any water to evaporation (and thus won't require refilling/opening the loop) and thus keep the risk of leakage at an absolute minimum in addition to not requiring any maintenance (unless you consider cleaning dust out of fans and such maintenance). It can't be said that there is 100% safety, but the cases of leaking is extremely rare. Some people have also added custom elements to the loops on these systems.

I have an H50 in my computer and a H70 in my wife's computer and have been able to overclock mine to 3.9 (didn't go to 4+ because of voltage) and hers to 4.1 pretty easily just using a push/pull configuration. One common complaint with these has been that they offer comparable cooling as big air coolers but generally have higher case temperatures. Either way, as far as your two primary points are concerned, you should be happy with any of the coolers you mentioned.

Well I'm also new to overclocking, so who knows where I'll stop? If the H70 is considered quality and will keep me at 60 or so when overclocked, I'll be happy. My current E2160 Dual Core runs about 67 maxed out, not overclocked. So 60 overclocked sounds well to me.
