Good fan suggestions!?

Hey OCN. I just got my new CM 690 II Advance Nvidia case and i need some good 120mm and 140mm case fans that aren't too loud and push a lot of air. needs to stay below 28-29db max. anything above is pushing it. i don't like loud fans. Any recommendations?

Ive seen a lot of ppl use the AP-14's but there out of stock on newegg and have a huge dead-zone in the middle? =/ there's just so many fans!!! Aslo my D-14 comes soon, I think Thursday should i replace the fans with better fans too? or stock perfect? I just need an idea so i can start my next wish list and finish my new build =)

120mm fans: Scythe GT AP-13; at 1150 rpm it's very quiet. For greater performance use the AP-14. I use AP-12's (800rpm) for the front of my case. I use only GT's for 120mm case fans.

140mm fans: bottom intake or top exhaust (air goes up): TY-140. Top intake (air goes down), or fan frame vertical (air goes horizontal): Prolimatech Blue/Red Vortex 14, TR TY-140, TR X-Silent 140 or Slip Stream 140 (Kaze Maru 2) 1200rpm. Quieter: Enermax T.B. Silence 140, KM2 800rpm.

The TY-140's and the KM2's have 120mm screw holes so you can put them where there are flat sides where the fan positions are. These work best where there are square fan windows: the 140mm fans make better use of the available apertures.

What ehume said. you could get something like the TY-140 and if you think its too noisy use a fan controller.
No dont wast time on TY-140's. They will not fit in the CM690IIAD case with out modding the case!!!! I was trying to mount the fans from my silver arrow in the case and they only fit the 3 locations in the case. They will fit on the two spots on the side door, and on the verry bottom most fan spot, wont fit top stops, or front, and wont hang off the HDD rack. they are some goofy fans this had to do with the fact that they are weird sized/shaped fans.

If your looking for a 140mm case fan for a CM690AD look elsewhere, But I would recomend using Scythe's GT fans, like elume said

EDIT: just wanted to be clear, this is a problem with the case..not the fans. although the fans are much larger than a 140mm fan when i held them up to measure

Quiet 80mm fans move no air.
80mm fans that move air are loud.
Small fans move less air and make more noise than large fans.
That's why 200mm fans are quiet and move lots of air.

You can only fit a 80x15mm fan so it useless to get one that fits on the inside of the pannel. I ran some test's with a 40 CFM fan(80x25mm) and saw 1-2 drop on the top end, no change on idle. its not worth it if your going for a silent rig. If you have a windtunnel(I do lol) then it will assist in temps if you have a low end cooler. Once I changed out to a Silver Arrow there was no change in temps with that side pannel fanon or off. I was using the CM Hyper 212+ for a cooler when I saw a temp change. Hope this helps

EDIT: the GPU retention bracket will only hold a 80x15mm slim fan aswell. Not worth it, but It looks like the bracket could be modded to accept a standerd size 80mm fan.

Ah k thanks so much yea i was looking at 80mm fans and the dba was wayy tooo high loll. i remember back in the day how loud they were and how much it annoyed me lol. i guess i wont use it or mod it later lol.

What's your guys opinion on Coolermasters case fans? too low of a rpm?
Or XIGMATEK's fans. I was looking at those for my future mod i wanna do. Changing the green theme to orange to match my Acer GD234HZ. Also it seems a lot of websites out of the ap-14's =( I wanna get some but kinda hard to find them so i might have to resort to other fans.
