Do I need a Sound Card?

Thread Starter
I currently have some extra money left over and was considering buying a sound card, but I'm not sure if I need them.

I have some Swan M10s as speakers and mainly listen to music, watch moves, and play games.

So my question is if getting a sound card would make a notable difference in sound quality for my situation? Would it be worth it? If so, which card should I get? Thanks!

Sound card would definitely be an improvement over an onboard sound I would say go for it if you have money... especially because the rest of your hardware looks good.

You don't have to be an audiophile to enjoy high quality music.

It just depends on how much you are willing to spend.

Would it be a noticable differnce though? For example while listening to music or playing games?

If you've got quality sound equipment, a sound card or external DAC will be a huge improvement over on board.

My budget is about $200. Which card should I get. I do wish to save money if possible as I only want to get a card that will give me a noticable difference in sound quality.
