Absolutely awful H50 temps - Page 2

Try connecting the fans and pump to a molex - to make sure they are running full speed in case the pump isn't getting it from the MB.

What are your ambients?
Absolutely. I have one on my 1090t with 1.51v @4.25 and it maxs out at 38c (I'm guessing that's 48c with the temp bug) when folding.

Hmmm odd, what fans are you using?
The temps shouldn't be that high, I get around 35c idle at 3.8ghz an around 60 at full load.

whoa those are terrible numbers. I get 48c at 100% load on my cooler master v8.
I'd contact Corsair directly and ask them for help. Maybe you can rma it.

Yes i have experienced this ...

Then i lapped my h50 and cpu , used as5 thermal compound and made sure my pump was 100% tight against my cpu .. Make sure your only putting 1 thin line of TIM .

Currently with my h50 on my i7 870 @ 4.2ghz im getting 30c idle and loads about 73c at 100% cpu usage .. During daily use gaming/browsing etc i never see over 55c.

I have done alot of tinkering with my setup though , hours and hours of frustration .. dw you will get there hopefully .. its a good learning experience , i just want you to know though there isnt anything wrong with ur h50 id focus on remounting as tight as i can and getting good thermal compound so you can test until u get the right temps .

Thread Starter
Thanks for all the responses, guys. I'm starting to think there's something wrong with the H50 itself. This is probably going to end up being my excuse to go real WC.
