Just wondering. Maybe these fans aren't made to spin up that fast.

I really hope you didn't tell Newegg or MSi about how fast it was spinning.
honestly i forget, lmao i just put it somewhere in the area when it was sitting at 40 and i was about to game, i dont know exactly what % it was. but it was between the 2. and as for fan speed, you can turn the fan speed up to 100% and that does nothing to void the warranty or anything, BUT. when newegg asked, i simply said that the fan spun up when i loaded bfbc2 to play, and that it flew off it spun up when i started playing the game.

and they are made to spin that fast

Call them back and go listen !#$%ers, I want to return this thing. If you get no action, file a claim with your CC. They are screwing you, simple as that. It's not your issue that UPS dropped the box and the fan broke because of that or not. You paid for a working card but did not get one. They have your money, and owe you a working card or they must refund you.

Don't get bent over dude, you got rights. FIle a claim with your CC if they won't budge, fill out the affidavit... if you have to.

Oh man, don't buy online with your debit card dude. Credit cards are protected purchases, but debit are not at least to the same extent.

You should let them know that you know your rights dude. You paid for a working card, not to be pushed around and made to deal with UPS and a claim for reimbursement.

That's ridiculous. The fan should be able to handle 100% speed 24/7. The first thing that should fail on the fan is the bearing after many months or even years even at 100% speed. It's not like this is a 5000 RPM Delta fan we are talking about here. The speeds on the MSi fan aren't so extreme that the blades should fail. The blade was either cracked in shipping or defective from the beginning (or the OP is lying and stuck his finger in it, known several people who have done that...)

Back when my friend broke a fin off one of his fans we just broke the opposite blade off at the same point in the blade and it was more or less balanced. There was still a slight hum to it but it didn't buzz like it did when it was missing only 1 blade.

I doubt you can do that and still get your RMA though. But it's nice to remember if you ever break a fan blade on something that is out of warranty.

trust me i didn't stick my finger in it, i learned the last time when i cut my finger on my lian li's case fan. it truely just flew off and into my power supply. that's why i'm just so confused and sad. =/ never had a problem before. so heres the first.

and epitote it normally has 13 fan blades...so how the hell do i even balance that.. lol

in other news, newegg chat sent my a happy birthday email with coupons lol

I'd send Newegg chat an email back asking for them to refund you your damn money.

And I don't know about the card, never had anything but squirrel cage fans. They never let me down. Harder to break too.

Yea, but over time the motor assembly will wear down much faster due to being out of balance.
