It sounds like it's a part of this new automatic update feature they've implemented with this driver (NVIDIA Update). So I am betting that it can be removed by uninstalling it from within the Programs and Features control panel. However, I don't have this driver yet, so I don't know what to look for.

I had it. Removed it by doing the following
Right-click Computer > Manage; Under 'Local Users and Groups', click 'Users', right-click 'UpdatusUser', then 'Delete'.

Cheers.

I had the same thing, I tried uninstalling the drivers to remove this folder and it did not. All that happened was upon reinstalling the drivers yet another user folder was created with a slightly modified name, so I ended up with two. So does anyone know the idea behind this and what it does before I go ahead and manually remove them?

I guess you need Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate because I have Home Premium.
