Flash Actionscript problem....

Thread Starter
I had posted a thing earlier on how to make a animated bus route based on a schedule with set movie clips. Based on the System time a certain movie clip will play animating the bus route

ie. If time = 12:00am then play Bus.GoToBuilding

(that's not actionscript but just the logic)

http://www.overclock.net/coding-prog...ionscript.html

And all seemed right with the world until I thought about something....

When people open this Flash movie it will *Not always be on the exact time a movie clip is to play* SO how the heck do I play the movie clip from a certain point based on the time???????

I asked a CS major (I'm IT) and he said something about making an array of nodes and using trig n such, however his was based on it all being straight lines. Which it isn't there is curves, angles...and such.

So I am lost...besides making the route one *stupidly* big timeline movie thing and just having "if time = x gotoAndPlay frame X"...which I feel like would be the wrong thing to do..

You could do gotoAndStop(x) to the clips that need to adapt to the time of the day, where x would be the current hour (if it's 2 PM, then it would be gotoAndStop(14)). Is it what you want*?
