The 8gb of ram is because I do run memory intensive things. When I am sitting down testing and developing stuff at school at least I need to run remote desktop for dev server then have a monitor running in the background and then have other things running... Don't want to have to deal with running out. LOL

The processor because of the cache from 3M to 4M and the .3GHz faster turbo mode at the same TDP...! I rather have the 1% faster one...I might not always see the difference but hey it is my money...

Thanks for the screen idea DNytAftr! +rep...

The potential to last extra years without bogging down is a plus I think. Also the fact that if you want to run this little laptop on a HDTV through HDMI out is a plus. I like the form factor, don't need to carry around a bulky 15-17" laptop...

Johnny you are really have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all...and stop trolling you have 8gb of ram on your m11x!!! I knew 8gb was alittle overkill but hey atleast I didn't get the 16gb option like a stupid noob.

*EDIT:*

The core i7 comes with the gt540m with 2gb vram. If I went i5 only get 1gb vram!!

Most people tend to only think about gaming requirements when choosing how much ram they get. I got 4gb in my M14x however because I personally didn't know if I needed more than that (I do like running multiple programs though and do a lot of multi-tasking) but I also noticed I could pick up 8gb of ram elsewhere for the same amount Dell wanted to charge me just to upgrade to 6.. lol. When are you due to recieve your M11x anyway? My cousin has an older one and I think it's pretty sweet.

It says now because of how many orders that it has a shipping date of May 13th.

I doubt I will actually see it before June 1st lol...

IMO it is much better if you could negotiate to take off 4GB of RAM from that laptop and slash $150 off the price tag , if you need the extra memory just buy an aftermarket one like Hynix/Samsung/whatever 4GB kit which is usually less than $100.

1 more MB of cache probably won't make a difference unless under heavy loads but i guess you didn't pay much more for it so why not.

I ordered the M14x and that's the same date they gave me lol. It would suck if we received it after that.

You can get 8GB of ram off newegg for $99.99.

I know that....probably at the time was too lazy to order from newegg.

I will most likely be getting a Intel 510 128GB SSD does anybody know if I can get one OEM for less than the common retail mark up??
