FORGET THE 1366 build. lol its wasted money. You can go sandy bridge 1155 socket build and be super close performance wise to the 1366 build. 2600k processor can clock to the moon.

And if your just ITCHING to spend that kind of money to the fullest wait till the 2011 socket comes out.

Depends what you'll be doing with the build. The 970/980X/990X are still the best for mulitasking.

Some people might be reluctant to help, there's been about 4 "5K build" thread in the past 2 days all made my trolls.

yea my vote is go with a 1155 build using the 2600k chip different ram and mobo and you will get the same performance almost all the time...

Yes. 2600k sandy bridge. Also a GA P67A UD7 MOBO. There are other good motherboards also.

EDIT: I am not reluctant to help...

i plan to play games and do alot of web development work. i myself am a web developer so i need the space and things to handle all of my work. what would you recommend for a serious gamer ?
2600K all the way then.

5K is a bit much if you're just going to be gaming and web designing.

I'd just get a 2600K, GA P67A UD7, GTX580, 850W PSU and some other things. Sorry for not being more descript, but I'm REALLY tired.
Web development and gaming are nothing that a 2600K couldn't handle. Don't waste money buying X58, as it is 3 year old date tech.
