Well, I haven't purchased it yet ... so was hopeful to get feedback from people here based on their experience with the monitor.

Use your desktop, or maybe the standard Windows 7 desktop background. Anything with a mix of color. Take one shot from dead-center looking on, then one slightly below (maybe a 25 degree angle, from the horizontal) then one further, maybe 45 degree angle.

TNs invert most noticeably from below in my experience. Just use the same background for all 3-4 pics so we can compare the color changes as the angle increases.

OCNewb - Don't beat yourself up, seriously. You've done a service to the community by exposing this. If you feel cheated by LG (most people would) then contact the Better Business Bureau. They've been very helpful to me in the past, and should be able to give you proper advice. Check this page http://www.bbb.org/us/code-of-advertising/ out.

I'm fine tho, i just worry about people who bought this monitor based on my thread. I already contacted Newegg and i have no problem return this monitor without any restocking fees and they will pay for the shipping as well. They had me sending over the screenshots too biggrin.gif, luckily i saved them all. Anyway, i think i will return it not because it's a bad monitor (it's indeed the best *TN* monitor i've ever used). I will probably purchase the Samsung TA750 or TA950 real 120hz 3D monitor which supposes to be out this May. I heard Samsung will have their new S-PLS monitors (wondering if they're different than the TA)out soon too.

Thanks for that Ocnewb, being that you've had the monitor and have been through all of this thread, your recommendation at this point is to not pursue this monitor then?

It's not that i don't recommend this monitor. Here what i think:
. If you're looking for a IPS 27" monitor then this monitor is not for you.
. If you're looking for a good TN 27" monitor then i'd recommend this monitor. It's the best TN (if that's what it is) monitor i've ever used. It's much better than the Samsung S27A550H which is in the same price range ($429.99). I haven't experienced any lag while playing games with this monitor, its color are very vibrant, texts are clear to read. Overall it's a very nice monitor.
I return this monitor not because it's a bad monitor again, it's because i felt that i was cheated by false ad by NE n LG. Now that you know the truth (probably until LG proves it i guess), you can make your choice.

Truth be told, I really don't know the main difference between IPS and TN outside of hearing that IPS is better (you don't have to explain it, I can go look it up later). That and after looking up that TA950 you mentioned, that definitely appears to be a superior product that I may hold off for now as well.

I find it amusing that LG told me that this is an IPS monitor and that alone like you said would make me feel cheated ...

Regardless, thanks for the info!

Here is the response I got from LG today:
