Negatory. I can't in good faith suggest a prebuilt gaming rig.

See I totally missed that. When I read "computer" - I see a singular noun, by which cannot possibly mean an analysis of individual components.

It's late. I absolve myself.

I'd say 2500k-based system with a 6950 2GB. Seasonic, asus, noctua. The prototypical $1000 rig these days.

Throw in a SSD and get rid of the second gpu and you're golden.

He will probably get 60 FPS on one GPU, then what is the point of a second?

SSD will give you insane boot and load times. Once you get one, it is hard to go back.

I put my system together for just under $1500 with everything you see in my sig. Shopping done mostly at microcenter.com with a little newegg.com sprinkled in here and there. I decided to wait on an ssd for prices to drop a little first. I know they provide an awesome speed boost, but i figured I could always add that at another time. and get more bang out of my cpu/ gpu atm
