out of the game VIDEO CARD

Thread Starter
Its been literally 2 years since I've Bought a gfx card,

I walked into microcenter today and looked at cards, I honestly couldn't make up my mind and just left, i figure if i cant decide the 8800 is fine for now, i'd like to start doing more with this desktop, my g73 leaves it in the dust.

From microcenter what are some good options under 130, i don't want to go to pricey because my g73 is still my main computer.

thanks.

Your post is rather confusing: It's been 2 years since you've bought a graphics card, but you purchased a 5850? The 5000-series made its debut in September 2009. It has been about a year and a half since then now.

At $130, I guess your best bet is going to be a Radeon 5770 graphics card. The improvement over the 8800 Ultra will be noticeable, assuming you have over 2GB of RAM, but it won't really be worth it in my opinion. You should try to craigslist that 8800 Ultra for $50 or something like that, and get a 6850 or GTX 460 1GB as a minimum for an upgrade.

460s can be had for around $100 at the moment. In my opinion they offer the best value for money.
