The NAXN 850W and 450W are completely different animals. Enermax just lost a bit of respect from me, for selling a high-end 850W and a piss-poor 300-350W labeled as a 450W under the same series name.

I don't think it's a DSAII. It doesn't have PFC, and looking through the backgrille it's totally different from the CX430.

EDIT: It's a CWT PUF. Compare the Newegg pictures to this:
http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Thermaltake-Purepower-500-W-Power-Supply-Review/990/2

How about these? http://www.newegg.com/Product/ImageGallery.aspx?CurImage=17-194-089-TS&SpinSet=17-194-089-RS&ISList=17-194-089-Z01%2c17-194-089-Z02%2c17-194-089-Z03%2c17-194-089-Z04%2c17-194-089-Z05%2c17-194-089-Z06%2c17-194-089-Z07&S7ImageFlag=1&Item=N82E16817194089&Depa=0&WaterMark=1&Description=ENERMAX%20NAXN%20ENP550AWT%20550W%20ATX12V%20%20Active%20PFC%20Power%20Supply

From the Newegg pics it looks like DSAII, but I may need clarification. tongue.gif

Yeah I have noticed Enermax going downhill lately. Good thing I bought my revolution before that happened.

Yeah, that's a DSA or DSAII.

So:
450 = CWT PUF
550 = CWT DSA(II?)
650 = ???
750 = Enermax
850 = Enermax

Consistency, much?

Is that CM GX 450 a better performing unit than GX650 and 750W since later two failed on many reviews??

Also how about a CM GX 550??

CHEERS..

CHEERS..

All the CM GX units are different platforms from two different manufacturers (Enhance and Sirfa). It's really confusing.

The 750W craps out at 450W
The 650W craps out at 550W
I haven't seen a review of the 550W
And the 450W is a half-way decent 450W.

I don't like CoolerMaster.

Yeah I have noticed that there are two different OEMs..

Can that CM GX 450 really deliver promised 32A on 12V+ rail and not to overheat and drop efficiency below 80% ??

CHEERS..

The 850w NAXN looks the same as the Chieftec APS 850C... which is Sirtec built AFAIK. Here are internal shots:

Chieftec: http://article.techlabs.by/img/article/9085/Chieftec_APS_850C_internal_view_1.jpg

NAXN: http://www.kitguru.net/components/power-supplies/zardon/enermax-naxn-850w-power-supply-review/4/

But yeah, it seems Enermax are getting a little out of control with the OEMs on the NAXN series. tongue.gif

Great thread, subbed and +rep.

Just a suggestion. Maybe you could gather this information on a monthly basis and have updates as to what the best budget psu's are for that month. Similar to what Tomshardware.com does with graphics cards. Thank you for your contribution, I for one appreciate it biggrin.gif.
