Motherboards are always so hard to choose (Help!)

Thread Starter
So I am building a new rig, and have pretty much everything figured out, except for my motherboard. I have it narrowed down to these 4, and the price difference doesn't matter to me, I just want the board that is going to provide the best oc, user friendliness, layout, and warranty. I'd like to try to get to 5 ghz, and probably CF one day. If anyone could help me decide I would really appreciate it. Here are the 4:

AsRock Extreme 4

Asus P8P67 Pro

Gigabyte UD4

MSI P67A-GD65

I was thinking the AsRock because I was hearing lots of good things all over the forums about it, but when I posted my build, a lot of people seemed to think one of these three boards would be better. They all seem like they would get the job done for me, so I just don't know how to decide. Please help me! I will be pairing this with a 2500k by the way. If there is any other vital information you need to know, let me know and I will be happy to answer. Thanks a lot in advance.

Cant say much about the other boards as ive not used them but the ud series from gigabyte are easy as anything to over-clock, but still seem to suffer from some annoying boot-loop bug so I would not recommend them ><

lots of people are loving the asus but lots of people are always loving asus Read good things about the ASrock never owned one myself but its reviewing well. The MSI I know virtually nothing about not used an msi mbo now for 10 years

Asus P8P67 Pro

This one has proven to be among the best overclockers in general. That is my impression.

And as Dr216 say, stay away from the Gigabyte boards. They have suffered from this loop cycle bug for years. I even had it in my Gigabyte GA-P35 DS3R. But luckily I could fix it by disabling the 'Legacy USB Storage Detect'.

I know it's a bit more, but is the ASUS P8P67 DELUXE (REV 3.0) worth the extra cost ? Or just stick to getting a Pro.

(Sorry to hijack your thread, but I'm in the same dilema on mobo's, might help us both and others decide)

only you can say, the deluxe offers very few additional features vs the pro but if those matter to you then go for the deluxe.

I love my UD4 and think it's a very viable option. The boot loop issue, if you even experience it, is easily remedied.

ASUS P8P67 Pro is not without issues but seems to be the most popular option. I personally cannot stand the color scheme, but it's a great board by all accounts.

I love the PRO, but the Deluxe has more power phases for more stabler OC'ing and RAID on the SataIII ports. Mobo raid is F- though and 12 phases seems plenty to keep my 2500k happy up to 5.2GHz, I just don't like all the voltage it requires.

Press and hold ALT+F12 during post to backup your main BIOS. Then disable legacy USB support in BIOS. Fixes most of the boards we see issues with. See GB P67A club in my signature, we talk about it all the time.
