Booting new pc for the first time; not turning on - Page 10

I'm also having this problem, but it's probably my motherboard. My mobo light is on and my fan flicks on for a second, but then nothing happens: No POST. I'll report back if my efforts will fix anything.

Bah, my fan isn't even clicking or ANYTHING. It's like it wasn't even powered on even though standby is on.

Yeah, it's plugged for sure (I think you can see it in the pics on pg5)

The retailer wants to exchange a mobo with me but I don't want to deal with any of this bullsh** again so I'm gonna call them up to demand a straight refund. Then I can buy it from my local ncix and if there are problems they could actually help me out. So I got a whole weekend to see what if I can still fix it before I'm able to actually make the call.

You may find that something could be shorting out your PSU (Assuming it's multi-rail/OCP)

I bought a heatkiller 3.0 not long back, and it's bulky backplate was shorting out some components, this ended up causing the system to not boot, but power on all the fans, etc.

Also turned out that it damaged my mobo, but anyway - it can easily be simple things like this.

I don't think it will be the psu because I had ncix check it out... I think it's safe to rule that out. I also re-seated the cpu just now, but I really don't see how I could mess that up.. there's only really one exact spot to put it, and the latch forces it to stay in contact pretty well. I think it's unlikely that both of my rams are faulty too. And it should beep and turn on with or without a graphics card, so the only thing left is the mobo...

Alright guys, update (if you care). I bought a different mobo from ncix today and sent in my other one. Once I plugged everything together it revved up nicely Faulty mobo for sure. Now I'm pissed because it's a month late, I had to pay like 37 bux postage to return, and now there's a discount for the cpu/mobo combo at ncix. ***. Gonna ***** at BestDirect tmr at work since I have time and inquire why they sent me a godamn faulty mobo.
