Will these parts work? I just want to be sure.

This is in the correct forum, right?

Ok, I'm building my first PC and I'm quite new to this so just stay calm and don't yell at me for being stupid

What I want to know is the following:
-Do these parts have the required "cables" to connect to each other?
-Is one of the parts too strong or too weak for the rest of them?
-Are there any pointless upgrades in this build that won't do anything unless I change other parts?

Tips on how I can get the same results out of my system for a lower price would be great too
.

-Yes
-No
-950 isn't worth the money to most people. Can overclock a 920 to more than what you need.

I'm most worried about the PSU and whether it is enough to power the entire system.
Enough without SLI.

also want 1333mhz ram or faster
need case fans
optional cpu cooling unless you plan on using the stock heatsink

Looks good. CPU cooling?

Take your time, don't get frustrated and enjoy your first build. You'll be adding, upgrading and OCing in no time.

EDIT: Swap the Seagate for a Samsung F3. It's a better HDD.

What about
Kingston DDR3 6GB PC-10600/1333 (3x2GB) CL9 Value Ram
Its the same price as the 1066, should I go for this one?

As for the case fans, I was expecting the stock case fans to do enough.
3x 120mm and 1x 200mm fans aren't good enough?
_____

and CPU cooling, I have no idea...

your CPU calls for 1333mhz ram
depends on how much you want to spend...

higher the mhz the better chance of achieving higher overclock
lower latency (CLx) more snappier (responsive) the memory will react

i honestly don't think it matters and you can't really tell the difference unless benchmarking...

but yes 1333mhz minimum

also which EVGA board?
could look up the specs but much easier if you tell us...
i noticed dual GB lan... if you don't plan on sharing internet or have dual modems... i really don't see the purpose (someone else please chime in)... could save some on the board

Drop the 950 to a 920 and get better ram, ie 1333 or 1600 rated is best. everything else looks fairly solid, but you may want a better CPU cooler and more case fans as well

Stupid Australian stores with their bad stock -_-
I was planning on purchasing this and an i7-920 instead of the 950 all from the same store, but it turns out the store doesn't stock i7-920 processors...

They will stock the i7-930 now, I believe. It's the same thing but clocked slightly higher.

The same thing happened to the i5-750 and the transition to the i5-760.

Best of luck with the build, the parts list looks brilliant.
