Don't know about this, but since you got the 80GB version, these are going to be a lot slower than the 480GB versions that you've probably seen the benchmarks run on.

Yeah, the x2 or the vertex 3 wernt out when i got this. i think i saw something about this.

the revo is basically a regular SSD with a controller converting the sata to pcix which is stupid.

you should have asked here first and people would have told you not to buy it since its basically a waste. the faster drives you have seen benchmarks on are just 2 sata SSDs in raid on the card so its cheaper to just get 2 drives and raid them yourself.
i picked it up cheap for under $100 new, so it was a cheaper alternative to RAID. i was going to do as you said, but the cheaper option was too good to ignore.

First off, HDTune isn't the greatest for SSDs.

Install AS-SSD so you can compare apples to apples.

Second off, I'm sorry to inform you that (IMHO) the Revo drives are actually pretty crappy and you're stuck with it.

Third off, exactly which drive did you buy?

Edit...OP, did you buy this?

1. righty, gotchya biggrin.gif
2. i see. is this just because of speed?
3. yeah, thats the one.

also,
i have no idea what TRIM or Garbage collection are, but arnt they to do with size?

EDIT:

Yep, but for the price you paid it looks a lot better.

I'm not real familiar with those things but I thought they were faster than what you show.
