Bought a 2500K..should I have bought a 2600K?

Hey guys,
I just bought a 2500K on Monday and received it Tuesday (Newegg is too fast), and I'm wondering if maybe I should have gone with a 2600K. The reason I'm asking is because I'll be doing HD capturing in 720p (not much editing though) from my Xbox and PS3, as well as streaming in 720p online. I hear the 2600K is much better for video encoding, so that's why I'm wondering.
Thank you very much.

I think just keep the 2500k for now, maybe step it up and go for an Ivy Bridge processor when they come out. I'm sure the 2500k will hold its own even for encoding/editing videos.

2600K does do better job on that but based on your description, probably just keep the 2500K and OC it unless you don't need to pay restock fee.

A 2600 k would be much better for video rendering with the help of the hyper threading, a 2500 k will be fine though.

It's fine the way it is.

It is only really worth it if that is going to be a majority of what you do with the box AND you don't have to pay a restocking fee. The 2500 is a beast of a chip, even more so given its price point.

Hmm...I think I'm going to try to sell it on eBay and then buy a 2600K. I'd sell it on here but I obviously don't have nearly enough rep lol.
I'll probably have the processor for at least three years so $100 now won't make too much of a difference...
Thank you everyone.
