My god.. yeah, talking about spending an extra ~$150 on a great monitor + 1TB HD vs. an average monitor + SSD is totally irrelevant here, isn't it? is right..

Seriously though, eseb1 made a great point. Some people *need* a nice monitor with great color accuracy, and it would be much more important than an SSD (anyone heard of something called a graphic artist?)

Inversely, you don't have a sound card because the better sound quality isn't worth it to you, and you do have a SSD because the quicker load times are worth it to you.

Please stop trying to argue with people over their preferences. This thread is the equivalent of telling people are idiots for having their favorite color blue when it should be red.
Read my first post, it is totally off topic. Start your own thread if you wanna discuss your soundcard

i play bc2,rift and wow someone bench fps with ssd and regular hdd if i see a increase in fps i will buy one . everyone has there own needs. some people dont care how long programs open up . my old rig was a amd phenom 820 2.8ghz use to take 1hour+ to encode a vid . the rig i have now does it in 20min or faster. getting a ssd with my phenom wouldnt have cut down my ecoding time to 20min .though my system aint high end lol i consider it low end . but if i get a ssd it just might be one

I agree. The original poster asked the question in the title, it was answered, and all he's doing is telling off those who don't own/want one, and clapping his hands at the those who worship them, so I wager at this point, the thread ran it's course. As I said, it's all just childish elitism now. The very idea of enthusiasm is getting together on your interest in the subject, not arguing "my system/parts is better than yours" or whatever. Sheez.

People who argue SSD are too expensive...come on for $100 you can have probably the most noticeable upgrade in your system.

Oh right. some people want more space and would put 100 bucks somewhere else.
