Not sure...

So... I'm not actually sure if this belongs under monitors or a sound forum?

Here's the issue, i have the integrated speakers with my monitor, and the sound was working fine (as fine as it could with a monitor) and i let somebody borrow my monitor to 'project' something from their laptop.
They hooked everything back in, i had to double check to make sure it was done right, everything looked a-ok. BUT now i'm trying to use my speakers just to listen to music, and nothings working. It says theres sound, the volume is set to the highest setting, and still nothing. i know i'm not going deaf, so that isn't the issue. I'm pretty dumb when it comes to everything about computers, i know a pretty limited amount, but i know enough that the cords and places they plug into are color coded, so i'm not that dense.

so if anyone has any ideas...at all, please let me know!

Could you post a couple of pictures of the connections and how you currently have it setup? Most monitors use a single 3.5mm jack that runs a line to the PC. Most PC's on board sound cards have a a couple of inputs. The one for audio is the green one. Double check that this is how you have it setup currently.
