What can I upgrade?

Thread Starter
Hey guys I'm getting my student loan here in a few days, and I'll have a tonne of $$ laying around and I want to treat myself to something. I'm thinking about an SSD, your thoughts? I don't really know what else I could get to upgrade seeing as new CPU's are around the corner and I'd imagine the next generation of GPU's are also around the corner :O

I'm also thinking about a Razer blackwidow, I really want a backlit mechanical keyboard, it seems gawdly. Also I REALLLY want to try the Razer ironclad mousepad, it also seems awesome.

the raptor drives are pretty quick
wait for the next gen ssd before you upgrade to one

id recomend a good keyboard/mouse kit for now

if i was u i would upgrade the graphics card

i would get a sapphire radeon 6950 and unlock it to a 6970
if thats in ur budget
u might have money but im sure u have a budget to spend

as for the SSD i would recommend being cautious and thinking of it u really need it.
u have a lot of hard drive space and the can be pricy or durable

BUT

NAND Flash, the underlying technology of today’s majority SSD products, has write wear-out limitations, with embedded processors, software and over provisioning of capacity, among other things. SSD manufactures have addressed this limitation, however, this inevitably adds another link in the chain of the overall reliability of SSD-based systems that must be rigorously tested and certified. The lack of standard measurement of the life expectancy of SSD is a major drawback

i hope i helped you out (:

instead of a new mouse/keyboard, how about a wheel or gamepad?

or another 5850 for xfire?
