Crysis (hardest difficulty)
Modern Warfare (only because of the difficulty, on hardest it gave me a very good challenge)
Modern Warfare 2 (hardest difficulty)
Portal
Portal 2

The games that either have a gripping dialogue/storyline/gameplay are the ones that hold my attention.

Crysis had the different suit modes, beautiful graphics, and very sandbox gameplay.

Modern Warfare had a very cliche storyline/dialogue, but the difficulty made it exciting for me to play.

Same with MW2, the ending made me really want to kill the enemy, and it made me feel proud when I had done it.

Portal just had some amazing dialogue that made me want to keep playing to see what would happen. In addition, the unique gameplay made it very interesting and fun to play.

Same for Portal 2, I stayed up late playing just to see what would happen next, and there wasn't too much changed gameplay-wise so that it still felt like Portal, but was still new and exciting to play.

I will not tolerate boring games, I just stop playing them.
quoted for truth...
i too unistalled crysis 2 after half an hour of playing....

1) i did not like the concept of mixing abilities....it should have been given as an option to the player whether they want to mix and match or not....

2) i hate the suit...looks like a body builder is sitting inside that thing instead of a dead man walking soldier...c1's suit contours were much suited for a soldier like body build up...

3) no actual benefit of using vehicles...very limited space.....

4) no sandboxing....or some kind of openness...

5)messed up story....i liked how c1 story was progressing, they messed that up real bad in c2....and i wanted to play with nomad and phsyco again....

6)i played c1 due to its gameplay and the simple story suited it well...we do not need another half lfe.....

7)weapons r not gud enough.....c1 was better in this department...especially the rocket launcher......

8)really realy dumb ai even at the hardest difficulty setting compared to c1....

9) dumbed down physics system....

10)lastly but leastly...it had dumbed down graphics compared to c1....

so u got any more questions as to how c2 was not gud........
i was a huge fan of c1 and played it like 10 times on every difficulty setting using defferent approaches...but with c2 i dont think i would be able to play it even twice
......

I'm looking forward to playing it in few months when it is not $59, otherwise I'm a bit indifferent to the hype or anti-hype. I still have mods I haven't tried on the first Crysis. If they don't release the tools for C2, I don't think it will have any replay for me.

Anybody else notice that there is almost no difference between extreme, advanced, and gamer settings? The only difference I can tell is lack of fsaa and slightly reduced draw distance going from extreme to gamer. But the performance gain is huge. It gave me an additional 30+ fps. Now i get over 60fps all the time.

That's wrong. There are alot of people complaining about that, but it's being ignorant by using that as justification that there's no reason to dislike Crysis 2. There are those out there who dislike it for perfectly legit reasons.

One of them is this...

Crysis 2 completely did away with the bigger scale levels and open ended play. It's not even the same game anymore. The gameplay changed, the atmosphere changed, the storyline changed, and all to appease to the instant gratification people who complained that the first didn't have genre changing gameplay because they didn't have the attention span to enjoy it.

Granted, the first wasn't for everyone. The gameplay wasn't genre redefining (and it was poor towards the second half), the storyline wasn't entirely original, and it ran terribly on PCs at the time at higher settings. There was also alot of hype that made people go in expecting one thing and getting another. However, to those who did enjoy the first, the second truly is a different and worse game, and THAT is why we dislike it.

I could care less if it's DirectX 11 or DirectX 7, so long as it looks the way it did. HOWEVER, there is some merit to that complaint when they promise things and then they don't come. I'm not so sure about all of that blur though.

That picture brings me to the next point you mention. Per the console port, I'm fine with those... so long as it's not as iffy as this one was. It's not so much the part about it being a port as it is the "consolitis" and changes because of that. The gameplay went from Far Cry with a nanosuit to Call of Duty mixed in. They're two different games. The only similarity is the name and the nanosuit. Even the majority of the characters and the story was changed so the console crowd could jump in and go and not have to be bothered (heaven forbid they don't get their hand held).

About pirating, no, I didn't. If I don't buy a game, I don't play it. It's that simple. Why would I pirate something I don't want to play? Others may pirate it, but hating things about the game is their excuse to justify doing it. That doesn't mean there's no reason to dislike the game or that everyone who dislikes it just some pirate. I support the industry that makes what I enjoy, and likewise, I give feedback, even towards games I dislike.

If you want a too long, didn't read...

Just because some people are being ignorant in hating the game, doesn't give anyone an excuse to be ignorant back and say there's therefore no excuse to dislike the game. Some of us just dislike Crysis 2, as it's clearly a very different game from the first which we enjoyed.
