just noticed during tests gpu temp never went above 38c so i upped gpu to 900 and mem to 1400 and retesting again lol

Are you running the stock heatsink?

That sounds too low. Go into ccc overdrive and slide the powertune all the way to the right. This will keep the card from throttling to stay under some power envelope.

After this use afterburner or something else to make sure your usage is @ 100%.

Oh, and this is 3dmark11 we're talking about, right? Nevermind I see where you told us.

running 3d mark 11 now
1250 is the stock 6950 mem clock and 880 is the stock 6970 core speed, btw. After the flash I assume you went from 800/1250 to 880/1375.

in bios changed cmos from 6 to 9 and fsb from 300 to 333
still shows as 2.4 ghz but ram and cpu scores on win 7 changed from 5.9 to 7.0 / 7.9

ffxi benchmark went up 1000 points and 3dmark11 is now 4196. im happy
