M14X looks sexi!

Thread Starter
So I think the new M14X by Alienware looks really sexy and I can't wait for someone to do some benchmarking with it and see how it stacks up. I was only looking to spend around 1k on a laptop, but depending on how it performs I may have to put down the extra $200 for it.

I am however dissapointed with the stock 1366x768 screen on the supposed high-end line of Dell's laptops.

I just created another thread yesterday stating the same thing. XD Yes the M14x is priced very nicely for what you get. For stock specs, it's beautiful. ^^

I am digging it and the M11x as well. For $75 on top of the $1200 price, you get a 1600x900 screen. Definitely worth it.

Does anyone know how the speaker quality (not using headphones) on these alienware's are? I miss having a laptop that's got a descent set of speakers built in. I know the some of the older XPS laptops used to have subwoofers built in and sounded half-way decent for laptop speakers.

Is the price really $1200? If it is, it sucks. What DOESN'T suck is the guts inside of it. I think the Mobile Core i7 Quad-Core and NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M+Optimus combination is a perfect match for a laptop with a 15.4 or 15.6" chassis at 1600x900. That way, you get good battery life, good screen real estate, and the ability to play most games in High with a bit of AA, plus you don't have eye strain from the extremely high PPI. Weight needs to be in the ~6 pound ballpark, too. I'd pay $1000 for a laptop with those specs, but I'm currently happy with mine (specially since I only paid $650).
