I have noticed a small delay when loading games ever since I added the 2nd 5870 too.

9000 something on 3Dmark11 seems pretty good to me.
You upgrading your drive solution messes up the whole comparison

Do you have both gpus and the cpu on the 360 rad? Temps good?

I'm not crazy! It's not bad at all; it's just an unexpected side-effect that I wasn't expecting. You find anything that helps? Just got used to it? You have exactly what I was looking for: 12gb of ram. I wanted to see that so I could convince myself that another 8 gigs wouldn't fix the problem.

At this point I'm speculating that it simply takes more time to get in and out of 3d because the driver has more to do.

yes - CPU and both GPU on one 360 rad. GPU temps top out at 45c. CPU can reach high 50s when running linpack.

Its definitely not ram lol 4 gig is more than almost anything uses and you've doubled that. Not to mention your 4 gig of vid ram! You could have outrageous resolution with that setup.

One thing that does stand out is that Awaz would have had to reinstall windows to configure that raid array so there would be no remnant drivers to muck things up. Would be interesting if you had another hdd you could put a fresh copy of windows on and see if the problem still exists. I'd almost guarantee it would be fixed.

One more kinda obvious thing, check the event viewer and see if there are any obvious errors that may relate to your problem. Next time your playing a game, have a monitoring program track the activity of both cards.

Does that board support x16, x16 at the same time? Some AsRock boards (along with a multitude of other manufactures) drop the pcie "electrically" to x16, x4. That would definitely put a hurt on your setup. I looked the board up on newegg but it didnt specifically say anything, which probably means the blue slots remain at x16. I'm just checking.

GPU-Z reports both cards running at 16x slot bandwidth. My performance seems good while gaming, its just there is an extra delay when loading. I just assumed it was the driver doing more setup too.
