Need help picking a laptop

What is your maximum budget? $900 including 13% tax and shipping

What country are you in? Canada

What will be the uses of this laptop? Regular school/work/general use, and also gaming

Do you have brand loyalty or care which brands we select for you? Nope, don't care about brand.

What screen size do you require? 15 or 17 inch

What screen resolution do you require? Preferably not a terrible one. Over 1600x900 at least

Are you looking to buy NEW or would refurbished/recertified/used be okay? Refurbs and the like are okay.

How long should the battery last? (Under optimal conditions, no movies/games/heavy internet) Enough for a school day of regular use, so about 6-7 hours.

What games would you like to play with your laptop? And on what settings? Starcraft 2, UT2004, Minecraft, and whatever random FPS games I play from time to time. Preferably on medium to high.

What operating system do you need? (if any) I'd really like a laptop without an OS, if that's possible.

Is there a certain style of laptop you want? (aluminum, black, gaming, etc.) As long as it doesn't look like crap and doesn't feel cheap, I don't really care.

How much hard drive space do you need? 500 GB at most.

Do you need any special hardware? (blue ray, webcam, specialty ports, etc.) Nope.

Is there anything else we need to know? ATI is fine, but I'd prefer an Nvidia card because I'll be running Linux, and ATI Linux drivers are quite pitiful.

I'll update later with more choices, but the Dell XPS 15/17 seems like a perfect match for you
