I am planning a new build in a month or two and have selected this PSU

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371021

I have a Corsair brand in this rig (like it fine) and the Antec 650 is cheaper (now) than the Corsair 650 and I don't need to fool with the rebate.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139012

Going to put it in a SB 2500K and either an ASUS P67 Pro or a Z68 mobo. Just a mild OC and if I get the Z68 I may not run a GPU at all. If I need to it will only be 1 card. So I know it has plenty of power (don't want smaller) but what I want to know is it a good PSU ...will it give me good service? I have not used any Antec power supplies before so I need some input

Thanks---dennyb

Really all you need is something like the Neo ECO 520 ~ which is enough for any single GPU setup + overclocks.

But out of those two, the TP-650 is a better choice.

Thanks but the TP is $20 cheaper and if it is a pretty good PSU ...then I don't want to spend more than necessary

It's only $20

but okay, not like you will be disappointed in the Antec, I have one and think its awesome. In fact I just won an autographed HCP-850w by them

Didn't release the X-650 was at $100... I would get that, it's much better than the TP-650. Either of them would be fine, though. If you really don't want to shell out an extra $20, then don't bother.

If you aren't going to run a GPU then you don't need anything anywhere near those wattages.

My 2600k overclocked to 5.2GHz running prime pulls < 300Watts (total system including an HD6950 2GB).
You'd be fine with a CX430, or a NeoEco 400. And they're like $25 right now. (I'd go with the NeoEco myself, but the CX430 can be had for a handful of magic beans, so... it's your call). You'd be fine with even less, but there's really nowhere to go pricewise, so why not get a good slight overkill PSU I guess.

I know I can get by with less, but if I decide down the road to go to water cooling or run a couple of cards Then I will not have to worry about power. Gonna rep everyone later

Just buy the NeoECO 520C.

For the two you linked, the Antec is the better performer, but the Corsair is more modular. Take your pick, performance or functionality.
