running bfbc2 in a windowed mode will kill your fps though.

Eh, what? Stalker, Left 4 Dead, and others still have very large modding communiites. As for BC2 and BF3, the engine is very complex and you have to recompile the whole game everytime you do ANY kind of modification, large or small, so they don't want to support that.

I prefer pc because I can game and work on a single platform.

edit: also There isn't a prominent modding community for console games (yet), 3D gaming and multiple screens isn't as easily accessible or feasible on consoles, and
when buying a console, consumers pay more for less.

Why on earth DICE made such a garbage development toolkit for Frosbite is beyond me.

The amount of hoops they go through to make a simple level modification is atrocious.

It's the developers not willing to fully support the PC platform and going to the cuddly couch of the console for the $$$...

Let me say this, the CD Projekt, the dev of Witcher 1, sold 1.5 Million copies on PC ALONE.

That is a lot of copies for any game barring COD, and that is because they made a quality game that is worth paying for.

The reason there are some pirating going on is the general crappy quality of games yet still demands full sticker price of $60, which by the way should have been $50 but they want to be greedy and charge same price as consoles DESPITE the fact that there is no licensing fees to be paid on PC.

This part really grinds my gears. It's such blatant, needless greed.

Crysis has a modding community, crysis 2 is getting a mod editor, every valve game ever is moddable... And that doesn't even get into sims like Silent Hunter or FSX that are routinely modded to the point of unrecognizability. Have you looked at some of the mods you can do to X3?

You'll never get a decent developer console on a... console (lol irony), you'll never be able to tweak .ini files, delete intro movies, or change detailed graphics settings. PC gaming is still teh win.

PC will be 32v32 and consoles will be 12v12.

I suppose, but when you look at the detail just in lighting that Frostbite 2.0 provides, you can kind of understand. We're not just talking a few simple dynamic lighting points, it's a very heavily layered lighting infrustructure they have.

Pretty sure there's quite a few more. I know alot of EA games run on dedicated servers (as EA tend to shut the servers down afte a few years if the game isn't that popular).
Nope. It's all matchmaking.I know Black ops is match making for sure. Same with L4D. Same with BC2. Not sure about the others.
