2011 Gaming "BF3" Build - Page 3

I'm planning to upgrade my current rig for BF3. I'm not so sure about my 460 holding 60FPS I would shot for AMD rig if your looking for max power on that budget. 955BE is a great gaming chip for cheap.

Ya it seems like AMD will be the better choice. The positive is that I won't be upgrading immediately. I'm waiting until the requirements are released so I don't have to change my setup and it gives me time to up the budget a bit.

What do you guys think about the RAM? Should I get two sets of 2 x 2GB Ripjaw X Series or the 4 x 2GB XMS3 kit?

Possibly mild overclocking. What does everyone think?
Not looking at prices....laziness lol. But i believe goin off the top of my head, u should go w/ the i5 2500k, P8P67 (mini atx if ur goin single card...cheaper), Ripjaws X 2x2gb, and prolly only need max like a 600w psu. If u can i'd go w/ the 560 ti for a card. Excellent case. Oh and cooler the CM Hyper 212 would be great for just mild overclocking.

Just read ur budget might go up...i'd def recommend this set up then. and u'll only need 4gb of ram at like 1333 or 1600...doesnt matter cuz you wont really be using much if ur just gaming.

Not too lazy to look up prices just wanted to ask others opinions. Taking everyone's post into consideration I have come up with this build so far:

Phenom II X6 1055T
ASUS M4A79XTD EVO AM3
EVGA GTX 560Ti
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 2 x 2GB
COOLER MASTER Hyper 212+
CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650
NZXT Sentry-2 5.25" Touch Screen Fan Controller
LOGISYS FP528BK All-In-One Card Reader
HAF 912
2 x GELID Solutions FN-SX12-10 120mm Fan
2 x NZXT FN-200RB 200mm Fan
ARCTIC COOLING MX-2 Thermal Compound

Might even keep my current PSU and save some cash there.

$855

That build looks pretty solid. I use that mobo with my 955BE, solid set up
As far as ram. I picked up two of these kits giving me a total of 8 GB's RAM. I picked them becouse they have a small heat spreader, and i cant stand heat spreaders on ram lol, and the cas/timings are pretty low(8-8-8-21). The only thing I would change about my build is use a 2x4gigs set up, so I would have 8GB's and only use 2 dimms.my2 cents

I think i5 would be best, do you have a microcenter near you? they are 180 there right now. Otherwise it looks ok to me.

Just noticed, 1066 ram? how come?

Should be one like 20-30 miles away. Which i5?

Not to much of an expert on RAM so I basically just chose the least expensive DDR3 8GB kit that was compatible with the motherboard.
