Flow too low...

Thread Starter
Got the following flow:

MCP655-B pump -> Swiftech MCR320 -> Ek Water Block EK-SUPREME Hf (#1 plate) -> Swiftech MCW80 -> ek-bay reservoir -> back to pump.

The spin is barely spinning on the EK-Bay, sometimes it just stops. Its a brand new pump and when I connect it directly to the EK-Bay (nothing else) it works fine.

I am using distiled water nothing else.

Tips: add 1 drop of DAWN soap in it.

MCW80 is known to be restrictive, but im shocked that the 655 cant pump through it.

Is the pump being fed the maximum voltage?

EDit: maybe it needs lube as nden suggested

This ^

That GPU block is really restrictive...

Also quite suprised that pump can't do it....

Any chance for a picture on how the setup is arranged in the case...

Did you check for any kinks in the tubing?

Could it be any dish soap? Whats so special about DAWN? I also have a MCP655 (with regulator) 4+ years old same thing happens as well...

Does it matter the flow on a Swiftech MCW80 (either one is an inlet or outlet right?)

Well, it can be a few things.

the spinning thing may not be lubed enough.

655 isnt getting enough power, or isnt powerful enough. which is odd because if that was the case, there would be more threads about this problem.

here's the comparison about the block

http://skinneelabs.com/universalgpu-nv480/8/

Have u tried taking the mcw80 block out and tested it like a cpu only loop

The pump is connected to the Fan adapter on my mobo, could that be doing anything? How do I max the power on the pump? Both pumps give the same result so doubt its the pump. At this point I think the pump might not get enough power (tried various adapter from my psu same result though)...When I connect the EK-Bay alone to the pump it spins well, it only happens when I add the rest, I'll do a one by one test and see if it is the GPU.

I've not heard of adding soap, but yes I would assume it has to be Dawn. Its specially formulated and nothing can beat it at cutting grease and oils.
