Default / Lowest Gain setting for 555s.

Its really based on the impedance of the sets with a few exceptions. Unless you dropping like 150+ on a pair of headphones (and even then) chances are the lowest gain is enough. When you venture into some higher quality sets, (ie: beyerdynamic 880s) you may need medium or high gain to drive them if they are they 250/600 Ohm models.

Also you can roll op-amps to tailor the sound signature to your ears/headphones. When your using the headphone amp out. The default JRCS are used that are in the I/V's. When you use the RCA out, both I/V and the LME4652NA in the buffer is used.

Make sure when listening to music to use 2 channel. 2.0 or 2.1 if you're using a 2.1 speaker set up.

Headphone/2 channel when using the 555s.

Play with the EQ and see what sounds best to you. If your equipment is good enough you may not need to change the EQ at all.

I'm sing the promedia 2.1 setup but in the xonar audio center it doens't show 2.1 channel?

one thing I did notice is that while using itunes to listen to music if I pause it and press play again I hear a shhh sound through my speakers and then the song plays, its like a total of one second

Not really unless you crank up the volume. The volume will do far more damage to your ears than the audio equipment.
Tbh, I'd use the 64ohm setting for those HD555s. It will benefit from the internal IC amplifier.
Turn it up to a max of 76% in the Asus Xonar Center, if that's too quiet, bump up the gain and lower the volume to listening levels.
