Is it wrong to use a walkthrough? - Page 3

Star Ocean is notorious for this. You miss out on ALOT of stuff without the guide.

I usually beat the game without them and then if I missed a bunch of bonus items and stuff, Ill beat it again with the walkthrough.

Only if you are tearing your hair out in frustration.

I didn't understand English back then. I talked to a lot of random civilians in those games.

I had to on chapter 7 in Portal 2. Those puzzles are pretty damn hard.

I had pokemon red when it came out in the 90s and got all the pokemon some of them you had to link with blue. I dont see why you need a walkthrough.

I only use walkthroughs for games where you need like 100% completion like FFX-2 and these days I don't have much time to walk around for hours so I just use a walkthrough

Its up to you. Do you prefer using a walk through or not? You paid for the game, get the most enjoyment you can out of it anyway you can. That is for single player games of course.

Walkthroughs are essential. Especially in games like Minecraft, which made a hell of a lot more sense after the walkthrough. I just jumped in blind at first, and kept wondering why monsters could always find me in my totally dark cave home, where I sat with my inventory full of dirt blocks.

Portal 2 is far too short and too easy to use a walkthrough. If you have been stuck on a puzzle for over an hour then go for it but the fun of the game is figuring it out. Portal 1 I can understand using a walkthrough more because there were things that were difficult because of the skill element and once you have figured out how you still had to pull it off, I can definitely see the point of checking you are at least attempting the right thing before you waste ages trying. Portal 2 there is nothing like that, once you know what to do it is easy.
