I bought this $15 6 button mouse

http://www.xpresscanada.com/index.ph...uct/PEIC000009

And its really hard to hold with a claw grip, and due to its sharp edges, it moves poorly on the blanket/couch that I mostly game on, and I don't have any suitable hard surface (actually I just looked at a hard binder cover, oh well)

To return it might cost what? $10 probably???

So I decided to mod it.

On the RHS I cut out ~1x2in with a dremel and razor, so now finger 4,5 fit into the mouse, I just need to add some tape to keep wires undisturbed. So that side worked great.

On the LHS, the 2 side buttons have springs that go straight down from them, so I drilled/cut ~1/2x3/4in hole just ahead of them, and just behind and below the little top-left most button. Its not the best place, but will do until I get a proper claw grip gaming mouse.

Then using the dremel and then mostly the razor, I got rid of the sharp outer bottom edge that goes all the way around the top shell, and tried to put a good bevel on it.

Then I used some 220 grit sandpaper, then 320, 600, 1000, and smoothed out the cuts/edges and what not, and put a nice smooth finish on it.

Now that its back together, I realized I have to fix 3 places on the bottom inner shell that now stick out. But it already moves 100x better on the couch.

So overall, very good mod, my old mouse has been dropped too many times, I can now retire it to the emergency backup. So this will now do until I get a proper claw grip gaming mouse.

The only thing I don't like so far about the mouse itself, is its wheel, its nice and quiet, but moves/changes clicks poorly.
