Come on now, not a thing about price for these procs has been verified yet. Personally, I will reserve judgment until more info is available.

it can only hit say 60x multiplier. Instead of 65x on the 6 cores.
I would put a very good palm on my face if even the 6 core models would be limited
This is an extreme platform. I'm pretty sure a lot of you would want to take those 4 cores out on a run with DICE. Not possible. EVERY processor on an extreme platform should be completely unlocked for OC. This is just not acceptable whatsoever for an extreme platform.

I really don't think Intel will not be releasing $1000 processors this year...

In case you didn't notice there is an asterisk next to the "Limited Unlock", meaning that there is more to what meets the eye and that this hack a** Chinese website couldn't bother to get what the asterisk meant.

AMD owners are so close minded when it comes to word about something that will beat their Tonka trucks.
goes both ways there on close mindedness

You know what I meant. All I was trying to say is that I doubt it's going to be as catastrophic as a limit as it seems. Apples to apples.

There's something attached to that asterisk that we don't know about. I highly doubt the limitedness of the 4 core chips is going to be as crippling as you think where you can't OC at all.

He's trying to say that because those two words "Limited Unlocked" are below the 4 core that this chip won't OC at all. That's absolutely preposterous. There is more to this chart that this half a** Chinese website isn't showing, for whatever reason. And I highly doubt the asterisk is trying to say it won't OC at all.

Not what I was saying. My point: this is an extreme platform. Locking ANYTHING out would be completely unfair for price, on a top-end extreme enthusiast platform.

In addition, Intel will have to face that the 4 core model on LGA2011will definitely not sell, people will buy LGA1155 instead since it'd probably be able to only OC as far anyway and even for the most part a high end LGA1155 is more than adequate.

the only EE CPU ever even worth it was the i7 980x when it was the only 32nm LGA1366 6core CPU. But now it's also rather overpriced, too.

I might of missed something. So are we going to see ANY 6-core "Premium Performance" class Sandy Bridge CPU's? Or is 6-cores exclusive to the "Extreme" range for now?
