Over clocking 6950

post #1 of 4
Thread Starter
I am about to unlock the extra shaders on my video card as well as over clock, however I'm stilll trying to figure out what software to use. CCC max out at 840Mhz and doesn't seem to allow to increase the GPU voltage.

Is there any way to go past 840Mhz in CCC and increase the core voltage? or should I consider using other types of softwares??? if I go with another software, should I uninstall CCC or should I leave it installed?

I know MSI afterburner is suggested, but If I can use CCC, even if I have to setup a few things, I would much prefer going this route.

Thanks for the help!

I would use TRIXX, because when I used afterburner I was limited, but TRIXX lets you go much higher.

nah, use MSI Afterburner, make sure to create a custom fan profile roughly 1C to 1% Fan (tweak it to your liking)

To unlock voltage control as well as Core and Mem clocks read this thread here - http://www.overclock.net/ati-drivers-overclocking-software/991071-afterburner-issue.html#post13135498

I posted to solution to unlocking all of its features...

I hit 1GHz core and 1500Mhz mem on my sapphire 6950 unlocked

Thanks!, I will try this when ever I'm ready to unlock shaders and OC. I still need to play some games and run some bench marks to assure my setup is working correctly.

Just to confirm your steps in your previous thread, this is what I would need to set in the config file for MSI afterburner.

[ATIADLHAL]
UnofficialOverclockingEULA = I confirm that I am aware of unofficial over clocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it
UnofficialOverclockingMode = 1
AccessibilityCheckingPeriod = 0

Does any one know if CCC can also be configured?
