Overclocked?

No idea!

But trying to keep it below 70C would be safest.

it throttles at 95c I think, some say below 85c is good some say 80c is good. I personally keep it below 70c. If your running air then I would say max 75c.

Mine idles around 50C, maybe 70C under load (games like Crysis 2), but then I ran the torture test on prime95 and my temp hit 95, so I stopped the test cause I was afraid I would damage the processor. Was I rightfully concerned?

Yes...

You should downclock it a bit, upgrade your cooling solution if needed.

What clocks/voltage are you running?

With a single 560 in 99% of the games out there you aren't going to need more than 4GHz to maintain 99% gpu usage.

for 24/7 use i'd keep it under 70c. for benching or stress testing (for stability) i would keep it under 90c.

i just got the computer about a week ago - so all of my coolers/clocks/voltages are still at their default values, thats why i was surprised to see the temps hit 95C. Im now considering just shelling out the extra money for a good cooler so i dont have to worry about it

95C on stock voltage...ouch
If your planning on a mild OC you could probably get away with a 212+. If your sticking with air, get a D14. Even tho you may hit 80-90C with Prime95 during real world usage you will never go above 70-75C.
