Would my loop handle the addition of two GTX580's? - Page 2

Thread Starter
So I did some digging through Skineelabs, thanks for that chart and information RatDog, and I figure my best bet is to add an additional single 140mm rad internally on the exhaust port.

Or swap my MCR320 with a HWLabs GTX360, as it appears to absolutely dominate with high RPM fans such as mine.

The GTX does dominate on high speed because the FPI is so high (meaning lots of surface area in exchange for lots of air restriction). The only down side is you would need your fans cranked up again for the performance. If you don't care about silence, then your conclusions is correct, that is probably the best current rad for your high speed fans.

The basic way to think of it is you can either have lots of low FPI rads and silent low speed fans or fewer high FPI rads and high pressure loud fans to provide similar amounts of cooling. Most water coolers go for silence so they tend to stay away from rads like the GTX and fans like yours. But you seem to be ok with 51 dba, so go for the GTX. At 4000 RPM you will probably somewhere in the area of 1300 - 1400 watts of cooling (assuming same ambient as Skinnee had in his test area) which should be plenty for your set up.

yeah, your setup won't handle it well, you'll probably want to add another 120 or 240 using the same speed fans. I'm running 5 radiators on my loop (3x360s, 240, 120) and due to the heat dumped by my gpus my cpu hits 53C @ 4.2 with slightly more voltage than you. you're fans are running roughly 2.5 times that of mine, so when taking the graph into account a 120 or 240 should yield you ~5-7c delta.

Here I added some pictures of how I had it setup, and how I have it setup now.

The first image, is with the GTX 580s, 2 rads, resevoir, and one pump.

The rest is the, the new loop setup, with dual pumps and 3 rads, and some cheap piping that needs to be replaced.

I have also high-lighted problematic spots, that are reducing flow to a certain degree. It would be wise for me to redo my loop to avoid those two sharp bends.
