Simply $1k Build

Thread Starter
Needs

1155 motherboard
case
cpu cooler (no h2o)
ram
hdd (no ssd)
psu
cd/dvd burner

am buying an i7 2600 at MC and already have a MSI 560 [$1k budget is not part of this]

Want good airflow and 8 gigs should be good enough.
Don't want an overkill PSU. Will most likely only be running two 560s.
Will also be running stock so don't need an overkill CPU cooler.

Thanks and yes, you don't have to spend all $1k.

I'll hit a few of my recommended components:

Heatsink: Re-Use your Cooler Master Hyper 212+ - It'll handle the 2600k even with a moderate overclock.
Motherboard: ASRock P67 Extreme4 - best combination of PCIe layout, featureset, and build quality in the price range.
RAM: Hard to go wrong here, depends on sale pricing
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB
PSU: Another item to watch for sales... A quality 650-750w+ model will handle an i7 2600, SLI GTX560s, etc without issue.

Listen to this guy ^

Heatsink: The 212+ could easily get the 2600K to 4.0GHz. Keep it.
Mobo: Unless you want a mobo like the Sabertooth cause of the BIOS or it's looks, then get the ASRock
RAM: Some nice Ripjaws would apply here
HDD: F3's all the way
PSU: A quality 650w Corsair or Antec one would be good here.

Case: CM HAF 922
Optical: Really doesn't matter. Go to Top Sellers and pick one.
