Hmmmm, quite a good read

So, you've confused me a little on the cooling aspect.

I have to come closer to my budget, its just too far out for me at the moment.

However, thats not to say I won't chase the build, just I'll have to upgrade a few components down the line.

That said, this is the revised build I've done based on the comments here and.. my budget, lol.

If you really think the 480 is a waste, I'll drop it and get two 240 rads.

In terms of what I've dropped if you can't notice, I dropped the 3rd GPU and respective cooling parts, I also dropped the motherboard liquid cooling.

The objective for this point is to help me make some savings on the above listed build, or minor tweaks.

I'm happy with where this build is at right now

Some important things were forgotten when listing the above build, such as the Revo drive and an optical drive.

I'm giving my current SSD's to my brother, in return he's buying me a revo drive. So with that regard, I'm happy

Anyway, just hoping you could review the above 'cart' to make sure I haven't screwed anything up =]

You could drop the 480 and go with another RX240, if your running 2 rads the 240's are fine, if it was 1 rad then a 480 may be needed...

Also you have blocks for a 570 and your cards are 580's....

Those are non ref blocks that apply to both, their meant for the gainwards.

Again nothing personal 10, but I'll have to bring in Charlie horses opinion on this one, I wouldn't take 3 fermis on anything less than an rx360, def not the 580s.

Yeah, thats fine. As I said Im no expert...

He has 2 580's in the cart above...

http://www.overclock.net/water-cooli...-gtx-480s.html

Seems most there say 360 for 2 480's, so I would say the same on 2 580's....

You could go 480. But I am willing to bet the temp diff wont be anything amazing... Still have to consider ambient as the liquid will never go below room temp...

After reading the link you posted I've decided to drop the 240 in favour of another 480.

The new setup will be:

Loop 1: Pump-480RAD-GTX580-GTX580-Reservoir
Loop 2: Pump-480RAD-CPU-Motherboard-Reservoir

I decided to reincorporate the motherboard cooling as I've read some things where people water cool the GPU and CPU, forget the board, and their board dies as a result of the heavy OC'ing... so I think this'll be safer - not to mention, I'll have fans anyway, but with this sort of investment I'd rather it survive.

You can ignore the Revo drive, as I'm not the one paying for that.

Still comes to a hefty $4600 odd... Will have to try some negotiation on the phone with them tomorrow, see if I can get a better deal.

Out of curiosity, how much of a difference is there between air cooling, and liquid cooling in terms of effectiveness?

Depends on what cpu your running and what OC... Most SB do 4.5 - 4.8 on air, kinda overkill to go with your h2o, but your whole system is overkill IMO so what the he11..

I can cool an i7-950 @ 4.24 - 1.41v with a 240, and the 950 runs much hotter than a 2600k will, so take it for what its worth....

This is so true, a 2600K doesn't need Water Cooling really. Just get an NH-D14, even an H70 and it'll OC to 4.7 - 4.8 with great temps.

My i7-930 can do 4.2 with HT ON with only 1.264v and the temps are in the mid to low 70's under full load.

I'm starting to wonder about this build.... Here's what doesn't add up.

Plus, all that Water Cooling for a moderate overclocker? When as I said before, the 2600K only needs an air cooler for 4.7 - 4.8.

That build is at $5300 now, which includes almost $1k in WC parts, and the $1K monitor is not even in there.

This may be the most overkill build, or the most successful troll to date, which ever it is, a lot of things don't add up is all I'm sayin'.
