Why play games on PC over console? - Page 11

I just can't stand controllers, I'm a KB and Mouse man.

The other things would be graphics quality etc...

You don't *really* think that's skill, do you? rolleyes.gif

I've played on servers with obvious cheaters, and no, you don't always notice them right away. Sometimes, they're on your side (squadded with one a while back, didn't realize anything was up until the other side start raising cain) and sometimes, you just don't run into them.

But I mean come on... 600 hours of online FPS without any sightings of hackers...

Sure, I might have not noticed some but if there were that many, I should've at least saw SOME.

And no, someone shooting you from across the map is not aimbot
Someone hearing you creep over a corner is not wallhack
Laggy servers and poor hitboxes are not god hack.

There are other PSUs that are better than old TX-750 model.

Well isn't the PSU in the rig the Corsair TX 750 v2.2? Also, i don't know much about PSUs but i was looking at the Antec High Current Gamer 750w and does it matter that it doesn't have a main connector 20+4Pin? The corsair one does, not sure if it's needed, kinda sounds like it would be since it's titled "main connector" but the antec doesn't specify having one.

I think you missed the point the first time. When I said you weren't looking?

We're not talking about one shot across a map, lol. Or creeping up on someone. We're talking about one guy going 80 and 8 six games in a row. You really *do* have your head in the sand.

Edit: I've played probably half that, around 300-400 hours, and I've played with at least ~6 confirmed hackers (i.e. they've since been banned) and another ~8 that were obviously cheating to everyone on the server.

I don't call "cheater" at the drop of a hat.

You resort KDR to judge if someone is hacking? That's... bad... You know... plenty of people I know online could do even better.. and they ain't hackers.

KDR doesn't tell anything. Even if someone is at 50/0, it doesn't tell anything. It just means that they were good. If they were hacking, we don't know. But they managed to get a high score. Most likely doesn't relate to hacking in any way.

Aimbot is pretty difficult to notice but if you keep getting shot the second you step out into the open, the instant, every time you go there, and so are your teammates, that's a pretty sure hack.

Wallhack is almost impossible to detect from behaviour

But the god mode and such hacks are easy to see.

Yet I have never seen any indication of anyone being a hacker.

Really. I just gave you a link to the PBBans MBI. There are 14,000 confirmed hackers. That PBBans gets around ~1,000 a month on average is really telling.

Yet, you've seen no proof of anyone hacking? I guess those are 14,000 false positives?

You're right. 50/0 doesn't tell anything. But 50/0 every round, for 5-6 rounds straight is very damning. Hell, I suck but I manage to go ~30 and 6 from time to time. But not in the 80s with less than 10 deaths EVERY game. Jesus man.

No. I've never seen a hacker up close, although they do exist.

PB has 14000 hackers on record? I've got news for you. Games that have PB have a HUUUUGE amount of people playing on them. 14000 compared to that is absolutely so tiny compared to that. Just 14k? Really? That's a very very tiny amount of people confirmed as hackers...

If you know what you are doing, and think about the components carefully, you can build a decent gaming pc for under the price of a console. When I built mine it cost less than a ps3 (they are cheaper now), and I would have need a new TV if I wanted to use one of those anyway.

Like other people have said, console games are more expensive due to the licensing stuff.

Also controllers are expensive. A top notch mouse can be had for less than a standard ps3 controller. The xbox 360 in particular was very good at doing stuff like this, drawing you in with a low initial price, but you need to pay for everything else, almost all of which is overpriced.

Oh, and you wont be stuck with the same hardware for ever like the console makers want you to be, you can upgrade whenever you want with a pc.

Worst thing is that pc gamers sometimes get screwed over by developers because there is less money in it.
