Why? It would not be fun. Who gets the KB+M and who gets the crappy controller? Or vise versa in racing games. It would be a failiure.

I would think the limited size of the typical PC monitor is another factor against splitscreen. Although that is changing to some extent (at least for desktop users), it has probably held back demand for splitscreen enough that they don't bother even now.

Well that is partly true, but the monitor size is increasing with the transition to LCD displays and the advancement of the technology to allow for cheaper displays. Average gamer monitor size has gone from 17" to 24" now. It will continue to grow up to a point. I predict 27" being a popular size.

L4D and maybe L4D2 support splitscreen on the PC.

i don't care, if a crappy console can do it, a PC can do it just fine, let it be an option.

You can also rent console games for a few bucks, or even sell them once you've beaten them. The vast majority of PC deals are via digital distribution, which pretty much rules out both of these options.

A budget-conscious gamer will do well regardless of platform.
It's not even an argument that you can save a lot of money buying PC games over console games. Console games do not drop in price anywhere near as fast as PC games, this can't be argued. Sure you can find deals, but saving an average of $30-$40 per game is easy to do with PC gaming.

The price will be made up very quickly.

Also, I'm not even considering used games because all used games do is screw the developers...and that's also the reason I'm not considering pirating PC games.

I don't buy used games and I don't pirate games, I give my money to the people who deserve it, the developers who made the games.

Consoles are not just gaming consoles anymore, you can browse the internet, watch movies, play music, chat with friends, but merely a console is a gaming system... pc on the other hand is a lifestyle, that's why its more expensive, and were willing to pay for that lifestyle

I knew crapsole users like to do things the hard way like playing fps with a thumbstick, but browsing internet with a controller takes masochism to an entire new level ...
