Deck Legend only way to go??

Thread Starter
So Is the Deck Legend the only way to go if im even considering it???
I have been lurking around for a new keyboard, and ive done quite a bit of reading on mechanical keyboards, and from what i understand the differences between the cherry mx colors are:
Blue: like Model M's (additional resistance midway down)
Black: No resistance when pressing down
Brown: like blues but dont click
Clear: Like browns but u gotta press harder

My other requirements are the backlighting, and the NKRO, so that limits my options to the Deck Legend or the XArmor, possibly the new Zibal but thats not coming out yet, and id prefer it to match my blue hue.

I saw on some pics the Xarmor doesnt spray on the finishing coat on the kets evenly so towards the bottom of the keys you can see a before/after view.

So, am I correct on my understanding, and also that the Deck Legend and the Xarmor are my only two options?? So I guess id like a non-linear board blue, brown, clear??

If anyone knows where I could get the Deck Legend Ice (tactile) for cheaper then 200 shipped?? or Deck Legends in general. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

XArmor fixed their manufacturing/QC issues; or at least we haven't seen any of those issues since the U9BL-S released and the U9BL was refreshed.

So main difference between XBL and a Deck Legend is looks and appearance?

differences are: xarmor u9bl-s looks good, brown switches, usb hub, media keys

deck legend tactile, looks ugly, ugly fonts, white switches, different keycap technlogy (likely more durable), no hub and media keys, price.

For me brown switches are too soft, white switches are too stiff so i did this:

You should make sure you know what your getting into if you want clear switches, I bought that keyboard and after only a few hours my hands hurt. Your going to be fatigued twice as fast as the typical rubber dome keyboard.

The deck has about the best build quality you can get, while the Xarmor is about average (if you believe their QC is fixed).

If you don't mind the font\\looks of the Deck, it is a much more solid keyboard. You probably won't be able to find them any cheaper then direct. $170 + shipping. http://www.deckkeyboards.com/product...products_id=96

I really like my Deck Legend. The Cherry black switches take some getting used to and honestly I can type faster on my other keyboard that has black alps switches, but for gaming the Deck is superb. I also don't write books, so I'm not worried about WPM or anything. The lighting is great and the green is easy on the eyes in a dark room. The only real thing I would change if (I were industrious enough and someone told me how exactly) would be to lessen the stiffness of the left shift key. In FPS games where you hold shift to run, it can get tiring after a while.
